At Brightworks Maintenance, the safety of our clients, team, subcontractors, and the public is our highest priority. We are committed to carrying out all works in accordance with current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
1. Our Responsibilities
We commit to:
Complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all related regulations.
Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors are trained and competent to carry out their work safely.
Using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on every job.
Carrying out risk assessments for all works, identifying hazards, and taking steps to minimise risk.
Keeping all equipment and tools in safe working condition.
Ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal of materials, including hazardous substances.
Providing clear communication to clients about any safety requirements on site.
2. Client Responsibilities
To help us maintain a safe working environment, we ask clients to:
Provide safe access to the property or site.
Ensure areas are clear of hazards before work begins (e.g. belongings, debris).
Notify us of any known risks such as asbestos, structural issues, or restricted access.
Follow any safety advice or restrictions communicated by our team during works.
3. Incident Reporting
Any accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions will be reported and recorded immediately.
We will investigate all incidents and take corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
4. Continuous Improvement
We review our Health & Safety procedures regularly to ensure compliance and improvement.
We work with our insurers, industry bodies, and regulatory guidance to maintain the highest standards.
5. Insurance
Brightworks Maintenance holds full Public Liability Insurance and, where applicable, Employers’ Liability Insurance, giving clients confidence that we operate responsibly and safely.
This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if legislation or working practices change.
